I'm originally from Henryetta, Oklahoma, but I've proudly called the Tulsa metro home since 1995. My journey in the insurance industry began in 1997 with State Farm, where I started as an administrative assistant. In 1998, I earned my insurance licenses and began working as a licensed agent in Tulsa, eventually transitioning to an office in Broken Arrow later that year. I remained there until 2017, building deep relationships with clients and gaining valuable experience.
While working full-time in insurance, I also pursued higher education and earned my bachelor's degree in marketing from Northeastern State University in 2003. Insurance quickly became more than just a career—it became a calling. I truly enjoy helping people understand the risks of everyday life and how insurance can offer peace of mind and protection.
In late 2016, I was presented with an exciting opportunity: to open my own independent agency. After much thought and prayer, I made the leap and partnered with Premier Group Insurance out of Denver, Colorado. In April 2017, I launched HBI Insurance (originally named for Heidi Brown Independent Insurance). It was a big step for my family and me, but it allowed me to offer clients more choices and better coverage options across multiple carriers.
Later that year, I married my best friend, Tony Porter. While my legal name is now Heidi Porter, many still know me as Heidi Brown—and I still proudly operate under the HBI Insurance name.
My agency was the very first Premier Group office in Oklahoma. Today, there are 10 locations across the state, and Premier Group Insurance operates in 45 states nationwide. In April 2022, I moved my office from Broken Arrow to the beautiful Riverwalk in Jenks. The new location has been a fantastic move for both our team and our clients. In 2025, Tony and I also made Jenks our home.
Outside the office, my proudest role is being a mom. I have a teenage son who is the light of my life. He’s a passionate golfer, and if you give me five minutes, I’ll gladly take ten to tell you about his latest tournament.
